Solar Observing

Observe features of the sun up close through specially filtered telescopes and learn about our nearest star from members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.

Body Maps
Currently on display
Part of an educational project to enable women living with HIV/AIDS to better understand the disease, its treatment, improve personal coping strategies and share their wisdom through art – Body Maps were created by woman from southern Africa. Various pieces will be on display at the Science Centre in the !dea Gallery, thorough out the Fall.

Titanic Voices
Saturdays and Sundays until October 28
Experience the feelings of foreboding before the journey, the wonder of being aboard the liner and the contradictory viewpoints of what actually happened that fateful night. By using real transcripts from Titanic passengers, actors bring the stories of the voyage to life.

Titanic Thursdays
Every Thursday throughout the Fall
Find out what children from the Titanic era played with and how similar toys are used today. Children will get to learn a little bit of history and get to interact with some of the toys used by children of the early 1900s. During this workshop children will also have an opportunity to make their very own toy and take it home.

Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition
Until January 6, 2008
The tragic tale of the famous ship Titanic is brought to life through photographs, sounds and stories of the passengers and crew members. The exhibition includes over 280 artifacts recovered from the wreckage site, 3,800 metres below the surface of the north Atlantic.
Location: Special Exhibition Hall, Level D
Time: Saturday to Monday 10:00-5:00pm, Tuesday to Friday 10:00-6:00pm
Price: Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition is a timed ticketed exhibition with a premium admission price of: $29.50 for adults, $23.50 for seniors (65+) and youths (13-17), $19.50 for children which include admission to the Science Centre.
